The British
gifted India both Cricket and Golf. The sport of Golf grew amidst the lush green
farms, the soothing landscape and the fervor for the game make many a men move.
India has some of the most exotic

golf courses in the world. Some of the golf courses in India are situated at
the highest altitudes in the world. There are others, which give the glimpse
of grand Indian heritage by the look of their surroundings. You can find golf
courses in the vicinity of medieval monuments, in the backdrop of Taj Mahal
or in the lap of great Himalayan ranges.
Apart from the
traditional golf courses, India also boasts of a good number of modern golf
courses designed by world-renowned landscape designers. If the lifetime
experience of modernity and antiquity with the added spicing of golf is what
is needed to give a break to your tedious lifestyle, then come to India. We
will do everything to give you the peace of mind and a freewheeling time.
Most golfers probably do not know this but India is the first
country outside Britain to take up the game of Golf. What makes golfing in
India exciting is the diversity of its courses. There are golf courses in
the mountains, in the plains, deserts and at beach resorts .The environment
of each course is unique in its culture and history, highlighting all that
makes India a diverse destination .
In fact, it would not be wrong
to say that one of the best ways to experience India is through its golf
courses. A large number of international standard courses designed by names
as well known as Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus have now come up in India,
providing golfers with adequate challenge.

Delhi
Golf Club is perhaps the only Golf Club in the world, dotted with the monuments
of great historic and archeological value. This course was originally called
the 'Lodhi Golf Course'. In the 1930's the British ordered their Chief of the
Horticulture Department to design a course amongst the picturesque surroundings
of the Tombs of the Lodhi Dynasty of Delhi, which date back to the 15th century.
The character of the course lies in the rich fauna and flora that it has on
either side of the fairways thereby giving prime importance to accuracy in the
game. The Delhi Golf Club is also home to many professional tournaments including
the Indian Open, part of the prestigious Asian PGA circuit.. The club has every
facility of bar & catering, a swimming pool and recently a new pub and a
health club has been added to provide more facilities to the members.
The DLF Golf &
Country Resort designed by the legendary Arnold Palmer is superbly located
close to the international airport and the New Delhi CBD, this magnificent
golf course offers a great test of golf and will challenge players of all
skill levels. Night golf at DLF is a memorable experience and one not to be
missed. There is a fully equipped golf academy and a warm, comfortable
clubhouse that adds to the unique golf experience.
